It’s Friday!!

One
Little Miss and I ate this pie on Sunday at a local farmshop cafe. It was so delicious, I have been thinking about it ever since and really need to try to recreate it this weekend. If I am successful, I will of course share it.
Two
There is a lady on twitter @AngelJCake, who posts old photographs of Liverpool. She posted this picture earlier this week and it is of St John’s Church in Liverpool. I posted a recent picture of the gardens for one of my Sunday photos. Following her is really interesting and she ignites many conversations , she unearths some amazing photographs!
Three
Our garden is a blank canvas and I do not have a clue. However, I do appreciate a lovely garden and adore flowers, so I am looking forward to the challenge. The garden is very compact ha! and we invested in these two Olive Trees last weekend. I love them. The original plan was to put them on either side of the front door but I think they are too tall. Never mind there is plenty of space in the sparse back garden for them.
Four
A ‘ Welcome to the Glade’ Lemon Drizzle cake. I wrote about them here, which can only mean one thing, that we have new neighbours. The Glade is becoming a real community now and we are delighted, the more the merrier as far as we are concerned.
Five
This book was a Mother’s Day present from Ms Glade. It’s just perfect because I am always looking for new places for take Jack. I am looking forward to working my way through each walk. Thanks E x

Indeed lovely photos. As a scouser I was interested in the photo…Although I knew they were called St John’s Gardens, and that the Hall is St George’s Hall (not St johns) I’d never thought there might have been a church there in the past. D’oh! It goes to show you really should ad the little information plaques that are scattered around. One might learn things!!

I thought the gardens were named after the shopping centre 😂! I really can’t imagine there being enough room for a church of that size but there are loads of pictures of it in the library too. I don’t think there is a plaque there though, although there is so much in that garden. Have a lovely weekend X

Wonderful things! As long as your bay trees – gorgeous by the way! – are shorter than your doorway they would look fantastic either side of your doorway!! They don’t have to be low down! Not that they will not be lovely in the back garden though of course!! How lovely that you made welcome to the glade cake too! Thank you so much for joining in. Thank you Amy, the trees cover the outside light on one side and house number on the other, it all looks a bit cluttered. I try to make a cake for everyone who moves in, I think I have managed it so far ha! Have a lovely weekend x

Lovely things for Five on Friday – the pie looks delicious as does the lemon cake. I hope you find a home for your olive trees. We have one tree growing in our conservatory – I bought it as a little tiny tree for 99p from Woolworths (when they were still around) – it is now as tall as me. Have a lovely weekend:)

I like the look of the pie you had last Sunday, and that of the cake, too. It is lunchtime, I am starving. Olive trees, how exiting. I don’t think they would flourish up here. Do you think they will be fruiting? Have a great weekend.

That’s my concern really, I am not convinced that it isn’t too cold here too. I don’t think they will fruit, it must be too cold for that, but could you imagine? Wouldn’t that be fab! Hope you had a lovely lunch! Enjoy the weekend x

Mmmmmmm – lemon drizzle has to be one of my favourites!!! I bought a bay tree for my back garden last year – it died! I think it is more to do with my lack of green fingers than the bay tree!!! Your olive trees look lovely! Have a great weekend x

Oh no! I am really worried because I do not have green finger either! These were a bargain but they were not cheap. Ooooo! I don’t know how I will keep them alive ha! Next time you are passing let me know and there will be a Lemon Drizzle cake waiting for you X

We have the same dog walk book for the North East Wales area. We’ve done some lovely walks so far. Good luck with the gardening. We were bought an olive tree last year, and it has survived the winter. We DID bring it into the conservatory when it’s been very cold though.

Oh that is it! I am going to get pots for them that I can bring indoors in the Winter. I do not have green fingers at all, the whole thing makes me quite nervous. I have seen that book for North East Wales, that would be a good one too because it’s not that far away. I hope Inca is feeling better and you can get out and about with her again soon. Congrats to the ooive trees, they are so very nice. I would plant too, but I fear, our German mountain winters are to cold..
