Gabriella’s Five on Friday!

It’s been another ridiculously busy week this week, I’m glad to welcome both the weekend and half term.

Given that her sister shared her Five On Friday when it was her birthday, the eldest has insisted that she do the same ha!

Happy 20th Birthday Gabriella – not a teenager anymore. We are all looking forward to seeing you later twinkle x x x

So here are Gabriella’s Five On Friday;

I discovered a new favourite drink this week, Mango Daiquiri. Mum this is surely a healthy drink incorporating one of my five a day. It’s delicious!

I’m at uni in Manchester and this week I discovered a new cake shop.

Ice Stone Gelato is on Oxford Road and after a long day in Uni, myself and some friends on my course found ourselves in there.

I had a peanut butter creation, it was gorgeous. I’m looking forward to taking my family there, they would love it.

The temperature has dropped in Manchester this week.

We were so cold one evening that my housemate Ivy madeย this fabulous hot chocolate.

My friends on my course gave me this beautiful Pandora ring for my birthday. It’s so pretty and I am delighted.

I can’t wait to see what the parentals have treated me to, Mum has been going on about it for weeks.

My friends.

This picture is of some if my friends on my course. I have lovely housemates too and regularly see/go out with my housemates from last year.

I appreciate how very lucky I am that I have such great friends in Manchester. They make all the difference.

This evening I am popping over to Liverpool for an early dinner with the fam.

Then I’m straight back on the train to Manchester for a celebratory night out, to say goodbye to my teens in style.

I hope you all have a lovely weekend!

October 2005 :Gabriella Anastasia Maria

Dear Daughter,

This week sees you celebrating your 20th birthday, no longer a teenager.

I remember your first birthday so clearly.

Himself and I were amazed that we had managed to keep you alive for a whole year.

Until your sister came along, we thought we such good parents, then we realised that actually you were such a good girl!

We are so proud of you.

We know that Uni isn’t always easy but you have persevered.

It will be worth it in the end.

You are a lovely daughter, sister and friend. You are sassy, unique, special ๐Ÿ™‚ and always try your best.

Happy Birthday Twinkle, we love you very much.

I don’t usually celebrate my birthday so I was overwhelmed this year with kindness and thoughtfulness!

I have been wined, dined and totally spoilt all week!

Thank you everyone – you know who you are!

However, the very best present of all came in a 6Ib 9oz pink bundle – our very first Glade Baby! So exciting!

Five on Friday : The Birthday Edition

I am joining with Amy from Love made my home for Five on Friday again this week.

However, in honour of it being Miss Glade’s birthday, for the second time this week I am handing over to her.

Hi this is my five;

My Birthday, I am twelve today – hooray!!

I am going to school in my own clothes today to raise money for the victims of the terrible earthquake in Nepal. We are all donating ยฃ1. There will be more activties in school like nail painting, cake sales and henna tattoos to raise further funds. It was such an awful disaster. We are always having fund raising activities in school, but the situation in Nepal feels a bit closer to home because, one of our teachers has a son in law from there and, his family have been severely effected.

Tonight I am celebrating with a disco party for about 56 of my friends in a local church hall. My cousin is the DJ, he is very good! My mum has been making and baking food for the last two days. I am very excited. Of course all the children in The Glade have been invited.

This is my outfit for tonight. It is a blue play suit, with black tights and a black jacket. I have had this outfit for a while so I am looking forward to finally wearing it.

Mr G’s Happy Days! #6

In honour of it being Himself’s birthday, I thought I would ask him about his Happy Days this week. I might be pushing Katy from What Katy Saidย and Jenna from Tinyย Foot Stepsย to the limit here by breaking the rules again.

Disclaimer: I have not had my best week ever but still wanted to take part.

So Himself:

Out and about

I have enjoyed a number of good walks this week, ย especially in the woods with the family and Jack. We had a cracking day on the beach in Anglesey yesterday and even avoided the traffic on the way home. ย I am also looking forward to seeing Red Squirrels today and our buffet breakfast in a minute!

Fun at Home

She isn’t going to be pleased about this but, it was when Miss Glade’s described how to make Macaroni Cheese in a slow cooker. There was a lump of cheese, a lump of butter and a pile of Macaroni involved, it made me laugh out loud. It was very funny! ย She even claimed she had seen a video of it on You Tube but I’m not convinced! Hilarious!

Time for me

There has been plenty of me time this week, especially because I have not been in work. I watched the match on Monday night, had time on The Glade with Jack, had monopoly of the TV for a few evenings and, I am hoping for more of the same on Sunday girls . I also managed a sneaky nap on the beach today – ย result!!

Happiest moment

Being at the beach with my ladies and watching them all in hysterics at the dog’s antics in the water. ย He is the best entertainment sometimes especially when he shakes himself dry all over the ladies!

Next week I would like to

Eat less chocolate and be looking forward to the FA Cup Final!

Happy Birthday Himself and thanks for helping me out ๐Ÿ˜‰ x

Have a lovely day! We are off to hunt for Red Squirrels!

Dear Jack!

Dear Jack,

image

Happy Birthday to you, today you are 2!

image

You came to live with us 20 months ago when Ms Glade was 18.

You were a little bundle of cuteness who loved to chew everything in sight. I remember how fondly I regarded you when I could no longer sit at the garden table because you had chewed the leg off and, himself was propping it up hoping I wouldn’t notice – such happy times!

You have always been so placid and content. I love that you have chosen me as your pack sister but it would be wonderful if you could do as I ask now and again. ย It is important that I get your lead on before we get to the road.

image

You are such a much loved addition to our family. You have to be walked whatever the weather and it is usually on these walks that we have our best conversations. You always greet each of us as though we are your favourite and,wag your tail furiously all the time.

Most importantly we are all mindful that:

You are a part of our world but we are yours!

image

Thank you for choosing us Jack!

If this has inspired you to become a dog owner, please read this post by Cornish Mum first!

Have a lovely day!
