My Monday Quote!

Happy New Year my lovelies!

I never make  resolutions- well why set myself up for disappointment ha!

But I do like the sense of embarking on a brand new year and the endless possibilities that it offers.

Also, if we are really lucky, it might include things we’ve never tried before or new places to visit.

Given that I am back in the office today, looking out over a damp, dreary Liverpool, I will be mindful of another thought today;

‘Don’t cry because it’s over. Smile because it happened’ – Dr Seuss

We are off to the Rock and Roll Pantomime this evening, so my commenting might be a bit delayed – please bear with!

Have a lovely day!

My Monday Quote!

I like this quote a lot and believe it to be true.

When better than at Christmastime to perform a random act of kindness.

Wouldn’t it be great if everyone performed one random act a day between now and Christmas Day?

What a difference it would make!

It doesn’t have to be some huge, expensive gesture, maybe just let someone into a queue of traffic, or give a compliment or, smile at a shop assistance and wish her Merry Christmas.

I am sure we all try to do these thing anyway, but what about a little something extra?

Just a small something that can and, probably will make a difference to someone’s day.

I’m going to do it, anyone else fancy it?

My Monday Quote!

At the end of each of my posts I always instruct the reader to ‘Have a lovely day’.

In light of the abhorrent events in the world over the last week, it got me thinking about how does anyone have a lovely day after hearing such terrible news?

Indeed, I was in two minds as to whether to even put it on my first post after Friday’s news.

It was my own little act of defiance that made me include it, to change would mean they had won!

I found this set of instructions on life hack.org and thought it was a nice mixture of helping yourself to enjoy the day,  while at the same time trying to make someone else’s a little bit lovelier.

While I am not naive enough to think that I can change the world, at least I can try to change or influence, my own little world and the  little world’s of those who share it.

Also, each of the actions are small enough not to be too taxing.

I  do hope I try to do most of these already, but there is always room for improvement.

I hope this helps you to have a lovely day, one action at a time!

Let us not let them win! x x x

My Monday Quote!

I imagine someone else will of already posted this quote at some point, sorry if it was you!

I have been struggling with ‘working mum’s guilt’ this last week. I completely missed half term because of a work event.

Couple that with falling asleep at every turn because I have had awful jet lag and, you have one guilty mum.

Therefore, when I saw this quote earlier this week, it came at just the right time for me.

I am going to be kinder to myself this week, I hope you are too!!!

Have a lovely day!

My Monday Quote-I’m a wandering!

image

By J.R.R.Tolkien

Sometimes those that wander do so for work!

I guess this is my clumsy way of explaining that I maybe missing quite a bit this week.

I’m  about to travel for work and believe me, it really isn’t the same as going on holiday with your nearest and dearest.

The youngest is on half term, himself will be in sole charge!

Given that the schedule is quite daunting, coupled with jet lag and the unknown, I doubt I will get to post much again this week.

Hopefully, at some point I will get some pictures of San Francisco to share with you.

Take Care x x x

I love this quote, I definitively seek respect over  attention. Indeed, this was recognised by a friend who sent it to me asking if it was my motto for life.

Maybe this is why eight months on, I still struggling with some aspects of blogging – who knows!

Have a lovely day!

I find myself saying this in many different ways as a mum, wife and friend.

Seeing it written in such a direct way makes me realise I need to get a grip, and start setting a positive example.

Wish me luck ha!
