Himself celebrated his birthday on Saturday. We had a brilliant day, which started with him enjoying a meat filled breakfast. The girls and I are vegetarians so eating meat is real treat for him. Afterwards,  we went to Formby Point and Anthony Gormley’s Another Place, the weather was gorgeous. Later we collected an Indian takeaway, it was a very laid back and relaxed day!

On Sunday morning I took part in the 5K that was held in Stanley Park, Liverpool. A small group had run from Hillsborough to Anfield in memory of 96 people who were lost in the 1989 disaster, I joined almost 2000 others who ran/ walked the last 5K with them.

I had not been shopping at the weekend because we had been busy , then when I went to get some butter out of fridge in the garage, I discovered some broccoli and cauliflower that I had forgotten about. Within ten minutes a pasta bake was underway. It was delicious.

Our chapel has been looking magnificent this week. The trees that surround it are all in bud now and earlier this week I noticed that the blossom is out too. Our Glade really is beautiful.

I am still trying to plant things in my garden and, despite the squirrels and Jack doing their best to derail my plans, I have not been deterred.

imageIt was fabulous this week when I popped outside to cut some Sage for the Risotto that I was cooking for dinner. As you do!

Imagine, that Sage in that Risotto came from our garden. I was, and still am, delighted. Let’s not forget, it is the little things ha!

So that’s my five for this week!

I am also linking with You baby Me Mummy & Mums’ Days for The List link.

  1. How great that you could have sage in your risotto that you grew yourself, nothing better hey! Well done on the run, that is great for a good cause too. I am glad that you have had a better week, you sound chirpier in this post. Thank you so much as always for joining in. I hope that you have a great weekend! xx

  4. I never had a sage risotto but I am going to remedy that, I noticed my sage has come back. Thanks for the idea. Well done for running 5k. I would probably have a cardiac arrest after 2k….. x
