I might have been that mad woman who told everyone to put their clocks forward by an hour as they went to bed last Saturday night. I might have almost tweeted to check the time on Sunday morning. I might have spent all day wondering had the clock been changed ? Was  it an hour ahead or an hour behind?  Could it be right? You always get one and last Sunday, it was me!

Remember the Olive Trees that I was going to put next to the front door  last week? Well, I have the perfect place lined up for them in the back garden. I planted these pink geraniums in little blue pots and popped them on the doorstep instead, I am thrilled with them. Thankfully, our lovely Amy saved them on Tuesday night when frost was forecast and advised me to move or cover them. Thank you Amy x

Most of the children in The Glade played hide and seek together on Sunday afternoon. It was lovely to hear them all shreiking and, we delayed having our lunch so Miss Glade could participate for longer. However, can you imagine my shock when himself informed me that they were using thier mobile phones to tip each other off!?!?!

Lets talk solar eclipse! I got myself  and Jack ready to go down and watch it from the banks of The River Mersey. We walk that way regularly in the mornings and often don’t see another soul. Well!  it was a popular spot on Friday morning there were telescopes and all sorts involved. Jack wasn’t impressed and just wanted to get back into the woods. At the very moment it was due to happen………….the sun hid behind the clouds.

Candles are a necessity in our house with having a dog. In the winter, I usually pick heavy scents like Apple Spice Potpourri, Cranberry and Rain Washed Berry. Now that spring is definitely in the air, I think a lighter aroma is required and this Soft Cotton one fits the bill nicely. I bought one for Ms Glade to take back to uni to remind her of home.

  1. I prepared myself & knew it was this weekend, being the person who had an intranet message to go out to the company a few years ago a week early, lesson learned there! x

  2. I always worry about the clocks thing too and if I turn them in the right direction, I am sure that I will get it wrong sometime! The geraniums look very pretty by your door and will be even lovelier in the summer!! I love Yankee candles too btw! Thank you so much for joining in and for being so lovely, it has been great finding you in blogland! I hope that you have a great weekend! xx

    1. Ahhh! Amy thank you for such a lovely comment 😊! The clocks have given everyone in my house a real giggle all week and thank you for saving my geraniums, I wouldn’t have thought about moving them, I have such a lot to learn. Hope you have a lovely weekend too x

  3. I love the geraniums in the blue pots, so pretty! I am thinking of doing something similar at my door too, but I think the heat will kill them. I tend to forget that you have to water plants too. Enjoy your longer evenings 🙂

  4. Great photo of solar eclipse!
Reading your post, i took my calendar and see: our German summer time begins on this sunday – I’m that person, what always forget such things… Thanks for reminder.
I very like scented candles and have them in all seasons of the year.
My pelargoniums are still sleeping in the basement, we often have frosty nights here.

  5. I’m visiting from 5 on Friday, where I’ve joined for the first time this week. I miss hearing the shrieks and laughter of children playing since I’ve retired from education and around where I live there aren’t any little ones to play outside. I’m a candle lover too, more in the winter than summer. Have a great day.

  6. Thanks for reminding me that the clocks are changing this Sunday. I’ve almost forgotten about it! We saw the eclipse too. The clouds parted for a bit and we had a good view, though it wasn’t easy to take photos of it with just a camera phone. It made me wish for one of those fancy cameras! Have a lovely weekend! Those geraniums look very pretty, by the way.

    1. Hi Marion, yes I wish I had a proper camera too, I am hinting for my next birthday! Yes it’s definitely this Sunday for the clocks. Thank you I am delighted with the Geraniums. Have a lovely weekend with your girls x

  7. We never change the clocks here but when we travel time does become very confusing, especially when going to Sri Lanka where there is a 2-1/2 hour difference. Geraniums are one of my favorite flowers but they don’t do well here because of the dust and always shrivel up from the extreme heat. Have a good weekend. Tammy

    1. Gosh! at least that sort of heat is something we don’t have to worry about here too much. I am hoping Geraniums will be good for me because they are low maintenance, just a water every day and they should be ok. Thank you Tammy and you have a great weekend too x
